    Position Summary

    CBLPath is seeking a New York State Licensed Flow Technologist to perform flow cytometric analysis of all tissues, Bone Marrow (BM) and Peripheral Blood (PB) samples. A key player in the lab operation with respect to ordering, filing, Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) in all aspects of a clinical lab. In conjunction with the Chief Medical Officer & Vice President of Operations, manage day to day operation of the flow cytometry laboratory.  Directs all phases of work, quality, service, and costs and performs tests or assays as required.

     

    1.      The individual must be able carry out a variety of moderate to complex laboratory techniques including: flow cytometric analysis and the development and implementation of fluorescence assays. The individual must be able to collect data and critically analyze individual experiments under the supervision of the responsible investigator and maintain adequate notebooks.  Record keeping is extremely important.

     

    2.      The individual will participate in the analysis and design of experiments with the responsible investigator.

    3.      Maintain a well stocked, tidy, and safe lab environment.

    4.      Occasionally provide written and oral communications of your work.

     

    Position Requirements

    • BS/BA Degree with 1-3 years of experience. 
    • Must meet all NY state and local licensing requirements
    • Must meet CLIA requirements
    • Working knowledge of State and Federal regulations governing laboratories. 
    • Understanding and assistance in quality control / quality improvement programs, staining QC, programs / reports.  Continuing Education Program and training new hires. 
    • Working knowledge and understanding of computers. 
    • Knowledge of all departmental policies and procedures. l
    • Excellent technical skills and working knowledge of computers and budget.
    • Independent judgment required to meet common goal.
    • Cooperative working relationships with peers and management.
    • Independent judgment required to meet common goal.
    • Dependable, flexible and adaptable in all aspects of work.
    • Strong interpersonal skills.
    • Must possess supervisory skills.
